VIDEO: Shocking daylight carjacking captured on camera in Brampton

A daytime carjacking was caught on video in Brampton.

Two people approached a woman and demanded the keys to her Mercedes Sedan in the Wanless Drive and Tournament Drive area of Brampton on Tuesday around 11:30 a.m., a Peel Regional Police spokesperson told INsauga.com.

A video circulating on social media appears to show the incident unfolding at a gas station. The woman can be heard screaming on the video as she struggles with two people. One person appeared to hit her but police said she didn’t sustain physical injuries.

Police said the two people demanded her keys and she resisted. Eventually, one person got her keys and the two people drove away before police arrived.

The video shows the two people run from the woman and get into a Mercedes parked at the gas pumps. The car pulls out and one person tosses the woman’s purse out the passenger side window before speeding away.

Many people are slamming the person who filmed the incident without appearing to offer any help. It is difficult to say if the person videoing was a man or woman. It’s possible they weren’t physically able to offer help.

Nonetheless, people were quick to judge.

“Why does this person not put the GD phone down and help,” one person said on X.

“a screaming woman is getting attacked and punched and the person keeps recording,” another said.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with further information to call the Central Robbery Bureau at  905-453-2121 ext 3402.
