A video released by Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services shows the extensive damage caused by a fire at a Mississauga townhouse complex on Sunday.

The video, captured by drone, shows the 36 homes that were gutted at 2869 Battleford Rd.

Reports indicate no residents were hurt in the blaze, athough a firefighter did receive minor injuries.

The fire department remains on scene to assist with the investigation into the cause, alongside the Ontario Fire Marshal. It has been noted that asbestos could be present at the building which could hinder the investigation.

The City of Mississauga has created a hotline to share information with people displaced by the fire. The phone number is 905-615-4508.

The building was last inspected in May of this year and at the time the fire alarm system was in working condition. However, in some situtations a fire can compromise the alarm system and make it inoperable.
