VIDEO: Magic has returned to Niagara Falls dinner theatre show

The magic is back in Niagara Falls – the magic of Greg Frewin, that is.

While shows has been sparse for many months for obvious pandemic reasons, a quick peek at the May schedule saw the Greg Frewin Theatre (5781 Ellen Ave, Niagara Falls) fill less than half the month but in June and July? Night after night after night, the entertainment is coming.

His show are elaborate to say the least – much in keeping with his status as the International Grand Champion of Magic.

“Our show is breath-taking with a Vegas style format and features illusions that are both one of a kind and internationally renowned, performed by Greg Frewin,” touted the website. Pull up a few on YouTube and prepare to be in awe.

The show has been hailed as a “jaw-dropping magic experience and a family friendly entertainment experience, featuring real tigers including a rare white Siberian, and exotic birds from around the globe.”

Born in Hamilton, the Niagara Falls illusionist has placed first in numerous magic competitions including the International Brotherhood of Magicians, the Society of American Magicians, the Canadian Association of Magicians and the Federation Internationale Society of Magique – widely regarded as the Olympics of magic.

His winning streak recently culminated with his 2009 win of the Magician of the Year award at the World Magic awards, effectively ranking him as the world’s top illusionist.

In his professional career, Frewin has performed live all over the world, from Japan to Monte Carlo, cruise ships on the high seas to the Vegas Strip.

During that time, Frewin has also appeared on over 35 television programs including NBC’s World’s Greatest Magic, ABC’s Champions of Magic and his own three-part CBC special Magic Man: Home for the Holidays.

His accolades include:

  • Niagara Falls Misty Award ” Attraction of the Year – 2005
  • Canadian Association of Magicians – Magician of the Year (first ever)
  • 1st place Stage International Brotherhood of Magicians
  • The Gold Medal of Excellence awarded by the International Brotherhood of Magicians

  • 2009 Magician of the Year – World Magic Awards
