VIDEO: Luggage chaos at Pearson Airport in Mississauga

Pearson Airport in Mississauga has had its share of struggles since people started traveling again.
In some cases passengers have been told they were going to stay on the plane for 30 minutes once landed only to see the delay continue for 90 minutes.
As well, there has been an increase in processing time for both those coming and going as random security checks for COVID-19 continues.
Add in the part that customs officers are also asking more questions about COVID and the result is long line-ups and massive delays.
And matters don’t appear to be getting any better with some 30,000 international travellers arriving each day at Pearson, a number that is expected to climb to 45,000 during the summer.
Now let’s add another struggle to the list. The luggage carousel.
Here are a couple examples of a sea of luggage at the airport. It appears there is so much passenger traffic at Pearson now that the chaos funnels into the luggage carousel which can’t handle the volume from the incoming crowds.
While we’re at it, this is @TorontoPearson on Friday night. After being held on out @airtransat flight for nearly 3 hours with a baby, this is a fraction of the bags in baggage claim. @airtransat told me they are throwing my missing bag in the garbage if I don’t pick it up asap. pic.twitter.com/WPkdEXuada
