Police fired a Taser at a knife-wielding woman who caused a “disturbance” at a Brampton pizza shop that was caught on camera.

The incident happened at the Pizza Pizza near the intersection of Main Street North and Vodden Street East on Oct. 9, Peel Regional Police confirmed to INsauga.com.

Police say officers responded to a “disturbance” at the pizza shop and encountered a female suspect, who was armed with a knife, according to posts on social media.

A user on Reddit who witnessed the incident posted that the woman jumped over the counter “and started throwing pizzas and restaurant supplies on the ground,” and was “clearly having a mental health crisis.”

A video of the incident shows two officers confronting the woman behind the restaurant’s counter while employees can be seen hiding in the back. At one point, both officers had pistols drawn on the suspect, photos of the incident posted online show.

The video shows both officers pointing conductive energy weapons, commonly known as Tasers, before the woman drops to the ground while police sirens can be heard in the background.

Several victims suffered minor injuries, and police say the suspect also suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.

The woman was arrested and charged with seven counts of assault with a weapon, and one count of assault peace officer, Peel Regional Police say.

The name of the accused has not been released.
