Eugene Levy talks to Jimmy Kimmel about his Burlington experience.

Burlington made it onto the world stage last night courtesy of talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and his guest Eugene Levy.

During an interview segment last night (Feb. 29) on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host held up a newspaper article of guest Levy along with his pal Martin Short that promoted the comedy team performing at Burlington Central Library back in 1971.

The clipping points out the duo were to appear at the library for a performance of Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple.

Levy explained to Kimmel that at the time he and Short were members of a theatre group while they were attending McMaster University in Hamilton when they took on the roles of Oscar (Levy) and Felix (Short) for the short-run Burlington production.

The mention starts at the 4:50 mark on the clip shown here.

Levy, who currently stars in The Reluctant Traveler following his successful run on Schitt’s Creek, goes on to explain how he and Short — best friends for almost 60 years — first met at the university.

The 77-year-old Levy was born in Hamilton and will be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next week.
