VIDEO: Give a gift to kids in need this holiday with Toys For Tots drive in Mississauga and Brampton

More than $30,000 worth of new toys have already been collected for the Peel police Toys For Tots drive but more donations will help make the holidays bright for kids in Mississauga and Brampton.
The annual toy drive now in its 31st-year kicked off earlier this month with Peel Regional Police accepting donations of new and unwrapped toys to lend a helping hand to families during the holidays.
A massive mountain of toys worth $30,000 have been gifted so far and community volunteers have begun sorting through the donations, but police are asking Mississauga and Brampton residents to keep the giving spirt alive all season long.
“The past three years have been challenging for all of us but as our region has slowly opened up we are hopeful that this season will be a very successful one,” police said in a statement.
The charity drive raised $988,000 last year for families in need and saw over 10,000 toys donated to children in Peel, police said.
Toys can be dropped off at any Peel Regional Police buildings and Mississauga and Brampton fire stations, as well as Canadian Tire and Toys “R” Us locations.

You can also donate gift cards, cash or cheque, or make a donation online through the Salvation Army.
“We want to thank everyone who brought their new, unwrapped toys in and we’re looking forward to seeing all of our divisions and fire stations fill up with so many toys,” said Peel police Const. Taryn Young, Chair of the Toys For Tots.
