More than 1,000 gamers from Mississauga and beyond are expected to gather this Sunday (Aug. 7) in the city to do what they do best.

Gaming Reimagined is a one-day event being held at the Mississauga Convention Centre that invites gamers to try their hands at thousands of games.

Hosted by GAMEX, the day-long extravaganza runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

More than 100 exhibitor stations will also offer tens of thousands of video games, trading cards, comic books and other memorabilia for visitors to buy, sell and trade, organizers say.

“Whether you’re looking at finishing off a collection or hoping to pick up childhood favourites, we’ve got you covered,” they add.

The event includes a free play zone where people can try out hundreds of games. Gaming tournaments offer a chance to pit your skills against top players. Games include Smash Bros. Melee and Mario Kart 64 tournaments.

Admission is $8 to $17. However, for those who show up in cosplay outfits, admission is free.
