Video: Driver smashes concrete wall on Highway 401 in Mississauga

A driver smashed into a concrete wall, causing traffic delays on Highway 401 in Mississauga this morning.
The transport truck hit a vehicle and then collided with a concrete wall in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 just past Mississauga Road, OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said in a post this morning (Sept. 12) at 8:50 a.m.
The transport truck hit a concrete wall in two places. Both vehicles were in the collector lanes.
Schmidt didn’t report injuries in the crash.
But massive chunks of concrete were left on the highway after the crash. Schmidt said equipment was called in to pick up the debris.
Two transfer lanes and two collector lanes were blocked for the cleanup. Police expected the highway to reopen later in the morning.

“Traffic is very heavy eastbound coming in from Milton,” Schmidt said.
Drivers should avoid the area if possible, he added.
