A special pool party got off to a dog-gone good start in Mississauga this morning.
The city’s Dogs Only Swim Party was today (Sept. 9) at Lion’s Club of Credit Valley Outdoor Pool in Port Credit.
And despite the cooler weather, the dogs jumped right in and seemed to enjoy the party.
“The best pool ‘paw’ty in town,” the City of Mississauga said in a tweet.
The event was free but donations were accepted for the city’s Animal Services Special Care for Animals and Resources Fund.
The fund helps dogs, cats and other animals who find themselves in the city shelter in need of care.
Some animals need veterinary care and specialized surgeries before they are healthy enough to be adopted.
The fund also helps support the spay and neuter of adoption animals and make non-budgeted shelter improvements to animal housing and equipment.
