Video: Crash involving MiWay bus leaves one dead, 8 injured in Mississauga

Footage that appears to show a fatal crash involving a MiWay bus in Mississauga that sent eight people to hospital has surfaced online.
The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday (June 8) at Rexwood and Derry Rds. in Mississauga’s Malton area.
The video, which has been posted on social media, appears to have been captured from a dash cam and shows a line of slow-moving vehicles before a bus comes into view, crashing into the rear of a grey four-door car.

Peel Regional Police confirmed that a woman died at the crash scene, and eight other people were injured. Reports from the scene indicate that a dump truck and taxi are also among the vehicles involved.

Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie said on Thursday she was “devastated” to hear about the crash.
“My thoughts and prayers are with all those involved, including the individual who tragically lost their life and those with life-threatening injuries,” Crombie said in a statement on Twitter.
