A small group of bicycle-riding vandals was caught on video throwing objects at a home and breaking a window in an upscale area of south Mississauga.

Now, police want to catch the culprits.

Peel Regional Police released the security footage (see below) this afternoon (Aug. 3) in hopes it will lead to the identification of those responsible for damaging a Lorne Park home and alarming the people who were inside at the time.

Investigators say they believe the same group of four or five individuals is responsible for a series of mischief and trespassing incidents in the Lorne Park area.

The 29-second video, which captured the incident on July 25 a few minutes before 4 a.m., shows four or five people standing on the road with their bicycles for a few seconds before they run onto the lawn of the home and begin throwing objects toward it.

Given the darkness of the hour and that it looks like the vandals may have been wearing hoodies and/or masks, they appear on the video footage only as shadowy figures.

“Security footage captures the individuals throwing objects at the house, causing the front window to break and alarming the home owner(s),” police said in a news release.

The brief security video then shows the culprits running back to their bicycles and riding away along the street. One of the vandals fled the scene on a scooter.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on this or any related incidents in the Lorne Park area, or on the suspects, to call police at 905-453–2121, ext. 1133, or Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
