VIDEO: 2-alarm fire on roof of Toronto townhouse

Firefighters worked to knock down a two-alarm blaze that broke out at a townhouse complex in Toronto on Thursday.

The fire happened around 11:15 a.m. at a townhouse complex near Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto’s Lawrence Park area, the Toronto Fire Service says.

Firefighters say a rooftop patio caught fire. A video taken near the scene shows a large plume of smoke rising into the sky. The fire was upgraded to a second-alarm, meaning additional firefighting resources were called in to tackle the blaze.

Firefighters knocked down the blaze and say no injuries were reported. The fire is not believed to be suspicious, the Toronto Police Service says.
