Victims, suspect of Hamilton double homicide identified

Hamilton Police have identified the victims of and suspect in a double homicide that occurred Monday (April 26) in the city’s downtown.

“Extended family of the husband and wife killed on Monday at their George Street apartment have now been notified,” a police press release issued Wednesday said.

“The victims of this tragedy are 61-year-old Moui Khuu and 67-year-old Hung Vo.”

The couple’s 34-year-old son, Phuoc Hoa Vo, has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

Police said he remains in hospital and in an induced coma.

Police were called to the apartment building at 20 George St. Monday shortly after noon to multiple reports of a woman being stabbed.

When police arrived on the scene, they found Moui and Phuoc suffering from stab wounds in the hallway on the thirteenth floor of the building.

Hung was found in the family’s unit also suffering from stab wounds.

All three were rushed to hospital where Moui was pronounced dead and Hung died a short time later.

Police say the violent events unfolded in the wake of a family dispute.
