Police have laid more charges and made another arrest in a gunpoint home invasion and shooting where a victim was pistol-whipped in Brampton.

The armed attack happened on Nov. 25 when four people broke into a home near Sandalwood Parkway and McLaughlin Road in Brampton, Peel Regional Police say.

Investigators say suspects used force to break into the home and demanded money and property from victims who were home at the time.

One of the invaders was armed with a handgun and fired a shot during the break-in, and also struck one of the victims with the firearm.

The victim suffered minor injuries in the assault and the suspects fled the scene with undisclosed property taken from the home.

Now police say a 21-year-old man and 26-year-old woman, both from Brampton, have been arrested and charged with multiple offences in connection with the break-in.

Kashaun Grenier, 21, of Brampton, has been charged by Peel Regional Police with robbery with a firearm, wearing a disguise, breach of probation, unauthorized possession of a firearm and several other offences.

Investigators say the accused is known to police and was already under a weapons prohibition at the time of the robbery from previous convictions for firearms possession, “with the specific condition not to possess any weapons.”

Brenna Nash, 26, of Brampton, has been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm
knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, and three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, among other offences.

The accused both appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing, police say.

The charges come following the arrest of Brampton man Jessiah Farrell, who has also been charged in the Nov. 25 incident.

The 21-year-old has also been charged following an attempted gunpoint carjacking and an armed robbery of a victim walking to work through a residential area. Peel police have confirmed that he previously faced charges for an armed robbery in Brampton in February 2021.
