Police are investigating after a man from Brampton died after being reportedly pinned underneath a transport truck.

The fatal incident happened on Tim Manley Drive in Caledon around 7 a.m. on Saturday when the OPP says a driver got out of their vehicle and fell. That’s when police say another vehicle “in close proximity” to the man started to move, reportedly trapping the man beneath a transport truck.

Paramedics rushed the 48-year-old man from Brampton to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries where he was later pronounced dead. Police have not released any additional details about the victim.

Police closed off Tim Manley Drive between Chinguacousy Road and Neil Promenade for several hours while the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists were on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to contact the Caledon OPP at 905-584-2241 or 1-888-310-1122.
