Police have made one arrest and are searching for various other suspects involved in a triple shooting in Mississauga.

At 8 p.m. on Friday, September 17, officers responded after three people were shot at Hull Street and Airport Road near Toronto Pearson Airport.

One victim, a 21 year old Brampton man, was transported to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The two other victims were treated for serious injuries and have since been released.

At this time, police have arrested one person: 18 year old Jastaran Sandhu from Mississauga, who is charged with first-degree murder.

According to police, the triple shooting was the last of multiple incidents that had occurred earlier that day between two groups of people.

Police believe 18 to 20 males were involved and fled the scene of the shooting in dark-coloured clothing. No further description of the suspects has been released.

The name of the deceased male is not being released at this time out of respect for the family, police say.

Officers are continuing to canvas the neighbourhood and appeal for witnesses as part of the investigation, and are asking the other males involved to contact a lawyer and turn themselves in.

Witnesses and anyone with information are asked to call 905-453-3311, or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
