Victim of fatal shooting in Vaughan identified as Peel resident

York Regional Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened earlier today (Sunday, August 2) in the city of Vaughan.
Shortly before 7:30 a.m., officers were informed about a male victim who attended a Toronto hospital with gunshot injuries.
The shooting itself reportedly occurred at a building on Freshway Drive in Vaughan, where officers attended and found a second victim who was dead at the scene.
The deceased victim has been identified as Oshaine Channer, a 29 year old resident from Peel Region.
No suspect description is available at this time.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and York Police are asking witnesses or anyone with information to contact their Homicide Unit at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7865.
