Victim in his 20s dead after Hamilton shooting

One man in his 20s is dead after a shooting in Hamilton’s east end.
The Hamilton Police Service tweeted at 9:38 p.m. Sunday that it was responding to a shooting in the area of King St. East and Dunsmure Rd.
The man in his 20s was found about a block away from Gage Park.
Police are investigating the incident as a homicide.
It’s believed it was targeted.
Residents and motorists can expect a heavy police presence in the area on Monday.

The latest shooting comes one week after Hamilton Police issued a statement of concern regarding gun violence.
They say shootings in the city are up by 25 per cent compared to last year, and that officers had just responded to five shootings — three of which occurred in a 30-hour span.
