Victim identified in fatal Brampton shooting, suspect still on the run

Police have released new information following a recent shooting that killed a man in Brampton.

Around 10:26 p.m. on Monday, May 30, officers responded to a shooting call in the area of Bramalea Road and Bovaird Drive, but were unable to locate any victims in the area.

Shortly after at 11:09 p.m., police received a call for a man who was located without vital signs in the greenspace area of Heart Lake Road and Copperfield Road.

He was located and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said today (June 2) that the victim has been identified as Shem St. Marie, a 23-year-old man of no fixed address.

“At this time there is no suspect information available to share, however this is believed to be an isolated incident,” said police.

The investigation is ongoing.
