Four vehicles stolen in Halton, Peel and Toronto were recovered after landing overseas.

The Halton police’s Regional Auto Theft Task Force, in partnership with Canada Border Services Agency, recovered four stolen vehicles that were sent to Dubai.

The stolen vehicles were among several that were initially flagged as part of a 2023 investigation, police said. While multiple vehicles were previously recovered while making their way through Morocco, authorities were unable to have two shipping containers, carrying these four vehicles, turned around before reaching Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

“Through on-going collaboration between Canadian authorities and law enforcement in Dubai, the two containers were eventually rerouted back to Canada,” said a Halton police spokesperson.

In late January 2024, HRPS investigators took custody of the two containers carrying one Lexus SUV initially stolen from Halton, two Ford-150s stolen from Peel and Toronto, and one Land Rover Range Rover also stolen from Peel.

The total value of the recovered vehicles is approximately $200,000.
