A Burlington man faces multiple charges after a vehicle was spotted travelling the wrong way on the QEW following a crash.
A grey sedan was seen travelling the wrong way in the Fort Erie-bound lanes of the highway near Third Line in Oakville just after 7 p.m. on Wednesday, the Ontario Provincial Police said.
Police said the driver was originally travelling the correct way when he was involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer near the Third Line.
Leaving the vehicle’s bumper and licence plate at the scene, the driver of the sedan fled in the wrong direction on the shoulder for approximately two kilometres before exiting at Kerr Street, police said.
The vehicle was located in a parking lot near Dorval Drive and Kerr Street in Oakville.

No injuries were reported.
A 26-year-old male driver from Burlington was found and charged with impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, failing to stop after an accident and operating a vehicle without insurance.
The driver is scheduled to attend court on May 4 in Milton.
