Police say they've identified the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run last month that killed a Hamilton man on the Red Hill Valley Parkway.

The Hamilton Police Service (HPS) says it has identified the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run last month that killed a local man.

At around 6:40 a.m. on Jan. 17, a 67-year-old Hamilton man was travelling northbound on the Red Hill Valley Parkway. As he approached the Queenston Rd. bridge police say the man’s vehicle “became stuck,” causing him to exit his vehicle and “check for damage.” The man and his vehicle were then struck by another vehicle, which continued to travel northbound without stopping.

The 67-year-old man was transported to hospital and died from his injuries 12 days later.

While police say they were able to identify the vehicle, they are still appealing for witnesses as part of their investigation.

This was Hamilton’s second traffic fatality of 2022.
