Vehicle fire leads to impaired driving charges for Brampton man

What started as a vehicle fire near Owen Sound last weekend ended with impaired driving charges for a driver from Brampton.
The arrest happened on Saturday when the OPP says officers from the Grey Bruce detachment near Owen Sound were called to the scene of a fire.
Emergency crews arrived to find a vehicle fire, and police say a person was seen walking away from the scene.
Police say that when officers located the individual the 58-year-old male was “displaying signs of impairment.”
The incident led the OPP to charge a 58-year-old from Brampton with multiple impaired driving offences, including operation while Impaired – alcohol.
Police have not released the identity of the accused, who may also face a license suspension and a vehicle impound related to the charges.
The incident has police reminding drivers to call 911 when safe to do so if they witness a suspected impaired driver or illegal activity on Ontario roads.
