A man from Vaughan has been charged in connection with several break-and-enters throughout the Durham, Halton, Simcoe and York Regions.

York Regional Police say their Integrated Property Crime Task Force kicked off an investigation after two break-ins in Vaughan between June 22 and Sept. 16, 2022.

York police allied with investigators from Durham Regional Police Service, the South Simcoe Police Service and the Halton Regional Police Service in their investigation, linking a suspect to 12 total break-ins across their jurisdictions.

York police did not specify where exactly within the other regions the break-ins took place.

Collectively, the services raided a home in Vaughan and three vehicles linked to the suspect. During the raids, police say they discovered several stolen items.

Wrayal Dacosta, 40, of Vaughan, was arrested on two counts of break and enter. The other services have charged Dacosta in connection to the other ten break-ins.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Anyone with information relevant to the investigation can call the York police at 1-866-876-5423 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.
