More than $5,000 worth of damage was done when light poles in the parking lot of a Burlington education centre were damaged.

Police say the lights at the Ron Joyce Centre on South Service Road were tampered with sometime during the weekend on March 23 and 24.

The Ron Joyce Centre is home to the DeGroote School of Business.

The vandals removed a panel and ripped out the electrical wires inside. The poles have since been made inoperable and will have to be replaced.

Police are continuing their investigation but there is no suspect information or motive behind the vandalism.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Halton police at 905-825-4777 or through Crime Stoppers at www.haltoncrimestoppers.ca.
