Ontario’s GO-VAXX clinic rolls into Oshawa this weekend.

The mobile clinic is a partnership between the provincial government and Metrolinx. GO buses are converted into mobile vaccine clinics.

As the province just opened up fourth dose booster shots for anyone 18 years old and over, the clinic provides a convenient way to get vaxxed. It also comes as COVID-19 case counts are rising in Durham Region.

This Saturday (July 16) the GO-VAXX clinic will be at the Oshawa Public Library’s Jess Hann Branch, 199 Wentworth St. W. The bus will be there from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Book an appointment through the COVID-19 vaccination portal or call the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at  1-833-943-3900. The clinic takes walk-ins.

All GO-VAXX buses provide the Pfizer COVID‑19 vaccine for first, second, third and booster doses for adults and youth ages 12 and up, as well as the paediatric Pfizer COVID‑19 vaccine for children aged five to 11. Each bus carries up to 300 doses per day.

Each bus operates as a fully functioning vaccine clinic with the necessary supplies and trained staff. All COVID‑19 safety precautions are followed on board, including the required pre-vaccination screening and post-vaccination monitoring.

People need to bring their health card or some other type of government-issued photo identification such as a driver’s licence, passport, status card or birth certificate. The clinic suggests bringing something to eat and drink to prevent you from feeling faint or dizzy while being vaccinated. Also bring a mask and dress for the weather in case there is a line-up.

Do not visit the clinic if you have COVID-19 symptoms.

The buses are fully accessible.
