Vacant home in Niagara Falls goes up in flames during the night

A vacant home on Dunn Street in Niagara Falls went up in flames at 3 am this morning (August 10).

Niagara Falls Fire Chief Ken Henry said no one was injured in the blaze and the department is continuing to investigate the cause.

Crews faced heavy fire conditions when they arrived at the scene and damage is estimated at about $500,000.

According to area residents, there have been numerous fire in vacant properties on Dunn Street and while there is no word on what caused the fire, all utilities were reportedly disconnected.
