Uxbridge welcomes back Springtide Music Festival in June

Spring weather may be here already but true spring does not roll into Uxbridge until early June when the annual Springtide Music Festival arrives in the downtown.
Springtide is a celebration of music and community – especially needed after last year’s devastating F2 tornado that swept through the town, causing widespread damage – and features a wide range of stellar musical talent from Uxbridge, Durham Region, the GTA and beyond at a diverse set of downtown venues.
Headlining the three-day festival, which runs from June 9-11, is Oshawa’s own Dizzy, rock and roll legend The Sadies and the “gravel-on-silk” vocals of Ahi.
Second Wedge Brewing
More than 40 acts in total will be performing at eight different venues in Uxbridge over the three days, with the main stage to be set up at Second Wedge Brewing, a business that was destroyed by the tornado last May and is only now getting ready to re-open after a long re-build.
Other venues include Col. McGrady’s Pub & Grill, The Bridge Social, Urban Pantry, Corner House Pub & Grill, Parish Lanes Uxbowl, Wixan’s Bridge and Uxbridge Legion Branch 170.
Katie Munshaw of Dizzy
Dizzy, formed by singer Katie Munshaw and drummer Charlie Spencer in high school in Oshawa and later joined by Spencer’s two brothers, will close out the Sunday show on June 11.

Dizzy released their JUNO-winning debut album Baby Teeth in 2018, with the band’s new album due out later this year.
Other acts on Sunday include Billianne, Andrea Ramola and many more.
The Sadies
The Sadies, with a quarter-century of history and an eclectic sound ranging from “astral psychedelia to shuffling bucolics” and from “puckish pop to righteous garage rock” top the billing on Saturday.
They will be joined by JUNO-nominated bluesy-rock singer songwriter Terra Lightfoot, Ojibwa-Cree multi-instrumentalist Aysanabe, Jasmyn, Fieldguide and others.
AHI
AHI, the globe-trotting singer whose backpacking experiences have shaped his immersive sound, headlines the Friday slate of events at Springtide.
AHI (pronounced eye!) blurs the lines between roots, folk, pop and soul with his music and he will be joined Friday by Evangeline Gently, Jeremy Voltz and a handful of other musical performers.
Tickets are on sale now and weekend passes are still available, granting you entry to any of the venues in downtown Uxbridge, provided that venue is not full, as admission is on a first come, first served basis.
Springtide Music Festival will once again be using the historic Town Trolley to ferry music goers to the venues, with the trolley making a continuous loop around the downtown from 7 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
