Uxbridge car accident sends 21 year-old woman to hospital

A 21 year-old man is facing careless driving charges after allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign in Uxbridge early Wednesday morning and being t-boned by another vehicle.

The collision sent his passenger, a 21 year-old female to hospital with serious injuries.

Durham Police say the driver was eastbound on Sandford Road in a black Honda when he failed to stop for the stop sign at Regional Road 1. A black Nissan was travelling northbound on Regional Road 1 and struck the passenger side of the Honda.

The woman was taken to a trauma centre in Toronto with serious injuries but is now listed in stable condition.
