The William Osler Health System (Osler) announced it will be reopening the Urgent Care Centre (UCC) at Peel Memorial Centre in Brampton before the end of the year.

As of December 6, the UCC will be reopening to increase access to health care for residents with non-life-threatening conditions.

The UCC has been closed since 2020, in order for Osler to redirect resources to the areas most in need during the pandemic.

However, as the number of ICU patients remains stable, and the number of Ontarians who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 continues to increase, Osler is resuming most of its regular operations.

As part of Osler’s gradual recovery plan, the UCC will initially be reopening with modified hours—the centre will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every day.

“At Osler, our top priority continues to be the health and well-being of the communities we serve,” Kiki Ferrari, COO of the William Osler Health System, said in a news release.

“Re-opening the Urgent Care Centre is one of the last key milestones in returning to regular operations and ensuring our community receives the right care in the right place. I would like to thank the community for their understanding and thank the great team at Osler for their adaptability and unwavering efforts to care for our community during these exceptional times.”
