More improvements are coming to Bramalea GO Station.

Work is underway to extend the west pedestrian tunnel to the south parking lot.

“Once complete, this will allow us to add an additional main track for two-way, all-day Kitchener service, while maintaining safe and barrier-free pedestrian access to the station platforms,” according to Metrolinx, the operator of the transit system.

This work follows major station improvements completed in early 2023, including a new LEED gold certified station building, new parking structure, bus terminal, new passenger pick-up and drop-off area and covered bicycle parking.

“Improvements like these allow us to serve even more daily passengers as we introduce two-way, all-day GO train service over the next several years, all while providing a better experience for you,” Metrolinx says,

Here are some of the highlights of the current project:

  • A new enclosed station access building
  • Extending the existing pedestrian tunnel. This will allow customers to directly access the tunnel from the south parking lot, which will connect them to station platforms
  • A new 30-metre pedestrian walkway between the south parking lot and the new station access building
  • Preparatory construction of a retaining wall to protect for future track
  • Associated civil grading, drainage, structural, landscaping, electrical, lighting, CCTV, fare systems, signage
