Hamilton residents are being given a unique opportunity to be a part of the redesigning process of one of the city’s most popular parks.

In response to the deteriorating state of park amenities reaching the end of their lifecycle, City of Hamilton will be redeveloping Gourley Park.

Authorities say, the project aims to fully replace and upgrade various amenities within the park while ensuring they meet current municipal standards.

The upgrades include, replacement of the existing walkway and lighting that stretches between Duncairn Crescent and Brigadoon Dr, enhancing visibility and making the street safer for park goers.

The play structures and swings and the spray pad will undergo a full replacement. Adding more seating around the playground and spray pad, as well as in various locations throughout the park, is also in the works.

City officials say, “Hamiltonians will be actively involved in determining the theme and components of the new upgrades, ensuring it provides a refreshing and engaging experience for park-goers.”

The existing basketball court and tennis courts will be replaced by a new multi-purpose court and a tennis court equipped with pickleball line painting.

As plans for the Gourley Park redevelopment unfold, Hamiltonians can take this survey to share their ideas during the design process.
