UPDATE: Worker trapped in machine at Hamilton manufacturing facility, pronounced dead

One death has been confirmed as a result of an industrial accident in Hamilton this morning (Jan. 15).
The accident was reported shortly before 11:00 a.m. at steelwork manufacturer Stelco: Hamilton Works in the city’s industrial sector.
Paramedics confirmed that a male worker in his 50s was trapped in a machine at the facility.
He was extracted without vital signs and pronounced dead.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
Ontario’s Ministry of Labour has been notified of the incident.
