Update: Suspect identified after alleged sex assault of woman in Hamilton

Detectives have identified a suspect after an alleged sexual assault that occurred near Crockett Street and East 34th Street in east Hamilton.

The police announced today (June 22) that they are continuing the investigation. 

The alleged assault happened June 9 just after 2:30 p.m. in the area. A man approached a woman, talked to her and then grabbed her breasts, according to police. The woman pushed the man away and was able to film the man. The video was shared on social media.

Hamilton police did not name the suspect. When asked by inthehammer.com for more details, they said there was “nothing further to add at this time.” 

Police previously described the suspect as a Middle Eastern man, about 50 to 65 years old, with a medium build, grey hair and a grey beard. He wore black track pants with a grey stripe on the sides and a blue T-shirt as well as a blue, green and white windbreaker style jacket.
