UPDATE: Successful search for missing person in Oakville

Halton police say they were able to find a missing woman who is considered vulnerable.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 10), the police said that Sofia Ukani, a 26-year-old from North York, had been “located safely.” Ukani had last been seen the previous day in the area of Dundas St. West and Third Line in Oakville.

Ukani is described as a female, five-foot-nine with a heavy build, black shoulder-length hair and brown eyes who wears prescription glasses.

Police say she was last seen wearing a burgundy long-sleeve t-shirt, black track pants and a black jacket and was carrying a Herschel brand red backpack.

Anyone with information about a missing person’s possible whereabouts is asked to contact police through 9-1-1 or via the Halton Regional Police Service non-emergency line at 905-825-4777.
