The investigation is ongoing into a fatal shooting in Mississauga.

Around 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, officers responded to reports of shots being fired at a complex on Darcel Avenue, near Goreway and Morning Star Drive.

Police arrived and located an injured 17 year old male, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Five other victims, including a 13 year old, a 16 year old, two 17 year olds, and a woman in her 50s were located with gunshot wounds.

The victims have been taken to trauma centres across the GTA. One is in serious condition, police say.

According to police, multiple suspects in this incident fired a large number of shots from semi-automatic weapons before fleeing.

A large number of bullet casings were found at the complex, including some vehicles which were struck in the shooting.

The suspects remain unknown at this time. Police are currently unable to confirm if any of the victims or suspects are known to each other.

Police say it appears a music video was being filmed in the area before the shooting took place, but cannot confirm if it is related to the shooting.

Mayor Bonnie Crombie issued a statement on the shooting, calling it unacceptable.

“I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear of this senseless act of gun violence in our city,” she said. “My thoughts and prayers remain with the young victims and their families.”

More information to come as the investigation proceeds.
