Mississauga man shot and killed

Police are investigating after a man was killed in what investigators are calling an “isolated” shooting in a Mississauga industrial area.

The shooting happened around 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday in an industrial area near Royal Windsor Drive and Winston Churchill Boulevard, Peel Regional Police says.

Officers were called to the scene after receiving reports of gunshots and one man was found suffering from a gunshot wound, Peel Paramedics confirmed.

The 22-year-old male victim was critically injured in the shooting and rushed to a local hospital in life-threatening condition. Police gave an update on Thursday and said the victim died of his injuries and the death is being investigated as a homicide.

Investigators have not released any details about possible suspects but say the shooting is being considered an “isolated incident.”
