Update: Hamilton City Hall evacuated as police respond to unspecified ‘threat’

Update:
Hamilton police have cleared Hamilton City Hall with the service saying no threat was found. Roads have been reopened and an investigation is underway to determine the “origin of the threat.”

Hamilton Police are urging members of the public to avoid the area around City Hall on Friday (Aug. 6) as they investigate a threat.
Police said in Tweet issued shortly after 12 p.m. that the building had been cleared and police were searching the premises.
Main Street between Bay and MacNab has been closed to traffic so motorists will have to consider alternate routes through the downtown core in the meantime.
Early reports suggest that a bomb threat has been made.
