Update: Burlington woman killed in single-car crash on Hamilton escarpment

A 37-year-old Burlington woman has been identified as Hamilton’s eighth traffic fatality in 2022.
In a press release issued Thursday (March 31), Hamilton Police said they continue to investigate the cause of the crash that saw the woman’s car plummet off the escarpment at the intersection of Ridge Road and Third Road East in Stoney Creek.
Police were called to the area at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday to reports of the single-vehicle collision.
When officers arrived on scene, the woman, who was the only occupant of a 2021 Honda Civic, was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name has not been disclosed.

The Hamilton Police Service’s Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken over the investigation into the crash.
