Wilfrid Laurier University has partnered with the Town of Milton and Milton Public Library for a lecture series.

Last year, the lecture series was virtual due to COVID-19 restrictions, but this year, the series will return to the FirstOntario Arts Centre, located at 1010 Main St. E.

The upcoming lecture called Music for Mental Health in Therapy and Everyday Life, will take place on Apr. 14, 2023, and explore the mental health benefits of engaging in music.

It will feature Elizabeth Mitchell, PhD, RP, MTA Assistant Professor, Faculty of Music Coordinator, and Bachelor of Music Therapy, who will be discussing research and sharing examples from her practice as a music therapist.

The lecture promises to leave participants with a greater understanding of the cognitive, emotional and social benefits of musical engagement.
