Update: At 7:22 a.m., trains were running again, but there is a still a longer than usual wait between UP Express trains until 9 a.m. due to a signal issue.

Metrolinx is providing an express bus service between Union Station and Pearson Airport (Terminal 1).

Original story follows.

UP Express train was halted Wednesday morning.

Due to a signal issue east of Pearson Airport, there is currently no UP Express train service to or from Pearson Airport, Metrolinx, the provincial agency that oversees the UP Express, said.

Express bus service is running between Union and Pearson Airport.

Travellers at Weston, Mount Dennis or Bloor stations are advised to take the TTC as a travel alternative.

Just before 7 a.m., Metrolinx said a signal issue is causing a “longer than usual wait” between trains until 9 a.m.

“Trains will not be able to move through the area until the situation is resolved,” Metrolinx said.

At Union Station, the express buses will pick up and drop off customers from a temporary stop on Station Street (outside GoodLife Fitness). The temporary stop is located on the corner of Station Street and York Street. The express buses will run every 20 minutes in both directions.

UP Express Station Ambassadors are on site to assist passengers.
