After two years, Mississauga and Brampton residents will be getting a chance to get rid of all of their trash.

Peel Region has announced that from June 13 to June 23 the garbage exemption period will be reintroduced which means you can put unlimited amounts of garbage on the curb during the time period for it to get hauled away. Tags are not needed.

In 2020 and 2021 this popular amnesty program was put on hold due to concerns surrounding the spread of COVID-19.

During the exemption period you can put out most everything that you have been wanting to get rid of including very large items and stuff that may not fit into you regular garbage and recycling bins.

There are, however, a few exceptions on what can be put out. For more insight on what is acceptable click here.
