Universities, colleges, healthcare top Hamilton-Niagara best businesses list

The annual Hamilton-Niagara Top Employers list is out and it is heavily stacked with post-secondary learning institutions and healthcare facilities.
On the education side, Brock University, McMaster University, Niagara College and Mohawk College all made the Top-25.
On the medical end, Hamilton Health Science Corp., Joseph Brant Hospital, Niagara Health and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton also made the cut, meaning education and health facilities took up a third of the Top-25.
Employers are evaluated by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers using the same eight criteria as the national competition: (1) Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.
Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
