A unique new Italian restaurant in Mississauga will be officially opening in January.

Mambo Italiano, located at 660 Eglinton Ave. West, Unit #14, is a halal Italian restaurant that is new to the Mississauga area.

The restaurant, which recently had a soft launch, is 100 per cent halal and does not serve any dishes or beverages including pork or alcohol.

Mambo Italiano was founded by Aftab Khan, a restaurateur of over 25 years who previously owned Ciao Bella Ristorante, an Italian restaurant located in downtown Vancouver.

The menu features a variety of appetizers including caesar and caprese salads, bruschetta, fried calamari and garlic bread baked with Parmesan and mozzarella cheese.

Main options include lasagna, seafood stuffed pasta, tortellini, manicotti, chicken parm, osso bucco and more.

Guests also have the option to create their own pasta with over 100 combinations that include a selection of vegetarian, meat, seafood, low-carb and even gluten-free options.

And, for those with a sweet tooth, the menu offers various dessert options including homemade tiramisu, chocolate truffle cake, Italian cheesecake, caramel pudding and more.

The restaurant also offers a three-course dinner menu where guests may choose an appetizer, main course and dessert for $29.95.

The restaurant will be open for dine-in, takeout or delivery on most major delivery platforms.
