Unidentified woman found dead in Lake Ontario near Ajax shore

Durham Regional Police need the public’s help to identify a woman found dead in the waters of Lake Ontario off the Ajax shoreline.

The woman’s body was found in the waters of Lake Ontario the morning of Saturday February 12. Police responded to the scene near Audley Road around 9:15 a.m.

The body was recovered and sent to Centre of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy. The post-mortem found no obvious signs of trauma or any indication of foul play. The woman remains unidentified.

Police describe her as Black, with braided shoulder length black hair and vitiligo skin pigmentation on her face. She was wearing a black sweater vest, red jacket, black socks with a green pattern and black gloves with snowflakes on them.

The DRPS West Division Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Forensic Identification Unit are working together to investigate her death.
