An unidentified robber remains at large after a business in Thorold was knocked over yesterday.

Niagara Regional Police received a call shortly after midnight on November 21. When they arrived on the scene near Pine St. and Beaverdams Rd. they found a local business had been robbed.

The area, in the city’s southeast corner, is mostly residential with only a variety store on the corner.

Investigators learned that the suspect had rolled up to the store on a silver and blue bike. He entered the shop and produced a black pistol before demanding cash.

The clerk handed over an unknown amount of money and the robber took off on his bike east down Beaverdams Rd. The cashier was not hurt in the robbery.

Police describe the suspect as 20 to 30 years old wearing a black facemask with a white Air Jordans logo and a black and grey Tommy Hilfiger jacket.

Officers searched the nearby areas and found the robber had shed most of his gear. They found a Schwinn bike, the mask and the coat along with a replica pistol they believe was used in the robbery.

Anyone with information pertinent to the investigation can call the investigator at 905-688-4111, #3, ext. 1009590. Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at  1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
