‘Unacceptable behaviour’: Motorcyclist stopped in Whitby at 100 km/h over speed limit

A motorcyclist is without his ride for a for the next month after he was clocked going 100 km/h over the speed limit down a Whitby street.

The man was speeding down Anderson St. a long road connecting Brooklin with Whitby proper at 160 km/h in a 60 zone. Durham Police did not specify where along the road the man was stopped.

The rider has been charged with numerous offenses including stunt driving. His bike has been impounded for 14 days and his license is suspended for 30.

“This is unacceptable behaviour,” police said.

If convicted he potentially faces a $2000.00 dollars, a 1 year licence suspension upon conviction and up to six months in jail.
