Brampton residents who like to sport (pun intended) athletic attire will soon have a new store to frequent.

JD Sports, a sports apparel retailer that was founded in England in 1981, is opening its eighth Canadian location in Bramalea City Centre in Brampton.

The store, scheduled to open on Oct. 15, will be the brand’s third GTA location. The retailer currently operates 950 stores worldwide.

“It’s encouraging to see how the Canadian marketplace has responded to JD in the brand’s first year. Both retail and [ecommerce] stores are experiencing rapid growth, and much of that energy is generated through new stores like the one we’re opening in Bramalea City Centre,” said brand manager Rolf Savella in a statement.

“When customers come to our retail locations for the first time, they discover that we offer great products from global and emerging brands for the whole family, quality service, and a lively shopping experience. We’re excited to bring this to Brampton and Bramalea.”

According to a news release, JD Bramalea will feature both exclusive and hard-to-find apparel and highly-anticipated new releases typically valued by shoe enthusiasts. Some brands available at the store will include Nike, Jordan, Adidas and North Face. The company also says the new store will allow shoppers to access global exclusives through its Global Access program, which connects shoppers with private labels such as Pink Soda and Supply & Demand.

The new store is located on the second floor of the shopping centre, adjacent to Sephora and opposite H&M.
