Halton Regional Police Service says it caught an Uber driver taking a heavy-footed approach to customer service, which resulted in the loss of their licence and vehicle.

On Sunday night, an Uber driver from Hamilton who was Toronto-bound was stopped near Oakville going 175 km/h in 100 zone, HRPS-Oakville says. The driver was stopped on on the Queen Elizabeth Way at Third Line road.

Exceeding the speed limit by 75 km/h in Ontario typically triggers a stunt driving charge, which means an automatic seven-day licence suspenion and vehicle impoundment.
